I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.
- Charles de Gaulle

None of us would truly ever want to be a politician. At least I can’t believe that. But while we may not want to be politicians, we are ALL politicians! We are all political.

I for one could never be a politican. I simply cannot hide the fact that I need to be candid and forthright. At the same time, when it comes to politics, we as humans only want to hear people agree with our own politics. If we don’t hear similar ideas during a political time then there can be hell to pay.

I watched the Daily Show and it’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Hate yesterday. It was not only live streamed but also covered by C-SPAN (watch the entire rally and join the conversation) or see #Rally4Sanity. What an interesting show. It was what I expected and nothing I expected. What caught me the most was the end. I thought that Jon Stewart was incredibly poignant and sane. Decide for yourself.

A politician thinks of the next election. A statesman, of the next generation.
- James Freeman Clarke

I’m trying to be a statesman! I think Jon, while not being taken seriously by the pundants as a comedian, is trying to be more of a statesman!

What do you think?
