H.R. needs an M.B.A?

MBA H.R. needs an M.B.A? I just finished my business degree and, oh by the way, I am also in Human Resources. Imagine that! Throughout my career I have had interviews, colleagues and friends that look at my experience, degrees, background and scratch their heads.

Many people believe that you need to stay focused and on one path in one career direction. I don’t agree.

I feel you can be equally dedicated to your career path while learning and acquiring knowledge that will spark your interest while contribute to career and professional value.

Thanks John!
You know I have never heard of an MSHR and I am sure that outside of our profession no one else has either. But I guarantee they have seen MBA, JD, etc

I agree, Ben! As a fellow HR pro with a newly minted MBA, I think having the MBA on top of an HR background will only serve to make you/me/us stronger HR business partners down the road. In fact, at HRevolution, Lance, Rob Lockard, Dave Carhart, Matt from Monster and I had this convo at lunch: MBA or MSHR. Unanimous vote was MBA.
